Saudi Preacher Who 'Raped & Tortured' His Five -Year-Old Daughter To Death Is Released After Paying 'Blood Money'
A "celebrity" Saudi preacher accused of raping, torturing and killing his five-year-old daughter has reportedly been released from custody after agreeing to pay "blood money".
Fayhan al-Ghamdi had been accused of killing his daughter Lama, who suffered multiple injuries including a crushed skull, broken back, broken ribs, a broken left arm and extensive bruising and burns. Social workers say she had also been repeatedly raped and burnt.
Fayhan al-Ghamdi admitted using a cane and cables to inflict the injuries after doubting his five-year-old daughter’s virginity and taking her to a doctor, according to the campaign group Women to Drive.
Rather than getting the death penalty or receiving a long prison sentence for the crime, Fayhan al-Ghamdi served only a few months in jail before a judge ruled the prosecution could only seek "blood money".
Albawaba News reported the judge as saying: "Blood money and the time the defendant had served in prison since Lama's death suffices as punishment."
Fayhan al-Ghamdi, who regularly appears on television in Saudi Arabia, is said to have agreed to pay $46,934 to Lama’s mother.
The money is considered compensation under Islamic law, although it is only half the amount that would have been paid had Lama been a boy.
Despite Saudi Arabia’s famously strict legal system, Women to Drive say fathers cannot be executed for murdering their children in the country.
Equally, husbands cannot be executed for murdering their wives.
Formal objections to the ruling have been raised by three Saudi activists, and the twitter hashtag #AnaLama (which translates as I Am Lama) has been set up.
Local reports say public anger over the settlement is growing across Saudi Arabia, with authorities planning to set up a 24-hour hotline to take calls about child abuse.

Plots To Blackmail ‘Our Daily Manna Publisher’ Exposed
Our Daily
Manna Publisher, Rev. Dr Chris Kwakpowe, who was recently presented in the media
as being involved in an illicit affair with a lady purported to be his
secretary, has actually been lawfully and happily wedded to the lady in question
for 13 solid years. The union between the shepherd of The Manna Prayer Mountain
Ministry and Flora (Nee Igugu) was legalized on June 30, 2000, at the Ughelli
North Local Government Registry (Delta State), a few months after traditional
engagement in 1999.
Information
from reliable sources indicates that Dr Chris, a pharmacist with a degree from
the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State, has been
pinpointed for a highly orchestrated blackmail. Click to continue
reading.
And in the
last few years, those who have vowed to bring him down because of his rising
profile, especially due to the success that his quarterly publication, Our Daily
Manna, have engaged in high level plot aimed at tarnishing his hard earned
reputation.
A very reliable source (a pastor) confirmed to us “Before Our Daily Manna started in 2001; no one looked the way of Dr. Chris. He was neglected totally and abandoned by all. But because of the success story of his publication and ministry, they are coming after him now.”
Before the
publication began, Dr Chris was having it rough in all areas of his life. He was
frustrated financially, emotionally and in all ramifications. Between 1994 and
2001, he was abandoned by those he loved and cared about. He was distraught and
went into acute depression due to that.
That was why
he bought a rope and attempted to kill himself (suicide)! “I heard that he
bought a rope and hung it around a ceiling fan to kill himself when he heard a
voice that told him to stop. That he would be successful in writing
inspirational pieces for Christians. And that was the birth of Our Daily
Manna!
The
publication which started with his wife had 50 copies printed on the first
edition. Half of that (25 copies) were complimentary copies, while the remaining
25 were given out on credit. Over the years, the publication struggled; he was
in debt, pain and penury till he broke through!
On Monday,
March 4, 2013, between 8-9pm, his office in the church was broken into. And the
church’s data base was the target. The computers which contained the church’s
database of partners and members were stolen. And the case was promptly reported
to the police.
Another
reliable source confirmed that, “After the case was reported to the police and
they visited the church, we now realized that the intention of the perpetrators
was to use our database to blackmail Dr Chris and partners of the ministry. This
could lead to Dr Chris being implicated as the brain behind the phantom
extortions. That was their plot.”
Earlier on, we
learnt that Dr. Chris received a text message threatening that he would be
blackmailed on the internet if he fails to part with 250million Naira! He was
also advised to get in touch and not inform the police.
But the
amiable and publicity-shy shepherd of The Manna Prayer Mountain Ministry is not
a stranger to blackmail. About a year ago, from the church, a young girl was
abducted by a woman. But before she could escape with the little girl, she was
accosted. On interrogation, a knife and a big stone was discovered in her bag.
She was beaten mercilessly, and she confessed that her mission was to kill the
girl, dismember her and bury some of the parts in the church compound. Then they
would eventually inform the police about a missing child, and the dismembered
parts would be discovered. This would have labeled Dr Chris as a
ritualist.
The lady was
arrested and locked up at the police station, and while the abductor was there,
she removed all her clothes and everyone ran helter-skelter. She later pleaded
to insanity and those who came to bail her claimed she was unstable. The case
never got to court.
Also about two
years ago, another lady came up, accusing Dr Chris of being responsible for her
inability to get married, following an accident at his crusade at the stadium.
She said she fell down in the crowd and lost some of her teeth, that her fiancée
abandoned her as a result of that. The lady sued for N200 Million!
Year after
year, different shades of mischief makers have always cropped up, throwing
different kinds of accusations to paint Dr Chris black. "This recent onslaught
is not new,” our insider told us. “They will still come with more, and they will
not succeed.”

"I Beat My Wife Because Of Her Lover’s Text Message"
A trader, Mr Kayode Eremiye, 46, on Wednesday said he beat up his wife when he discovered a text message another man sent to her on “the good time” they had together.
Eremiye was responding before an Agege Customary Court, Lagos, in a suit brought by his wife, Adedoyin, seeking dissolution of their 11-year-old marriage on the grounds of battery and adultery.
“I was mad on the day I saw a message sent to her phone by her lover, revealing how he made passionate love to her.
“My wife is adulterous and always keeps late nights; there are countless love text messages on her phone,” he said.
Eremiye, however, told the court that in spite of the problem, he still loved his wife dearly and did not want a divorce.
“She is the love of my life and I still love her very much; she loves me and I know it but she is just confused.
“There was a day I saw a text she sent to her lover that if he did not want her anymore, he should allow her return to her problem at home.
“Despite the fact that she has packed out of my house, we still see secretly; she still sleeps in my house without the knowledge of our families.
“I still love her and I want the court to plead with her on my behalf,” he said.
The petitioner, Adedoyin, who lives at 11, Abeokuta St., Ogba, Lagos, had told the court that her husband used planks to beat her.
Adedoyin said that her husband also caned her and was not taking care of their two children aged 10 and 14.
“My husband is too jealous; he always felt insecure, trailing my movement and monitoring me whenever I went out or to work.
“Anytime I made the mistake of getting home at (as late as) 7:00 p.m., I was severely beaten and was not allowed to sleep in the house.
“My husband once beat me up when I was six months pregnant,” she said.
The petitioner also claimed that her husband kept chains of girlfriends and she knew them.
“Some of them threatened me on phone, while one even claimed she had a child for him,’’ she said.
The Court President, Mr Emmanuel Sokunle, told the couple to maintain the peace and adjourned the case till April 8 for further hearing. (NAN)

How TV presenter, Rachel Edjeren, was chased in a dream by Indian hair she fixed
Below is a story Abuja based TV producer/ presenter and blogger, Rachel Edjeren, shared some days back on her BLOG about the day she was chased in a dream by the Indian hair she fixed..
"My sister in-law came to pray with me last two years. She said she was experiencing ill luck during the week. So many nasty things happening to her.
"I prayed wit her and the Spirit led me to ask her what hair she had on, she said Indian. I was led to tell her to remove it and not give out but pray and burn it. She obeyed and things went back to normal. Sometime after that, my hubby and I watched a documentary on how ladies in India sacrifice their hair to the gods if they have nothing else worthy to sacrifice. It gets more interesting...:-) Continue...
My husband likes human hair. So even though I like my full dreadlocks kind of hairstyles, I give him what he likes most times. I have done brazilian and Peruvian hair so thought to try something different and more natural which is Indian hair.
Last weekend I ordered for it and made it. Prayed on it and believed it was fine. Yesterday night (march 14, 2013) I had the strangest of dreams. I saw that I made a hair that allowed me to pack it thus project my face and make it look slimmer. All of a sudden, I got into a scuffle wit 3 people who began to chase me all over the place to kill me. I got off from them narrowly and ran into a market. There, a mad man began to chase me.
I escaped him narrowly then 2 Molester-thugs came after me. All the while, I felt I was carrying someone else’s face.
I ran into a house with people praying. The lady in charge there looked at me and showed me a picture of my self with my regular synthetic dread-like hair and said “but that is ur regular look, why are you carrying someone else's face. Then from no where another lovely lady came from outside, drew me to the corner and began to ask me about my look. She said “you are having problems with your hair right?” Whilst she was talking, I noticed something in her mouth; a bowl of cowries and the face of a Benin god. I looked closer and asked her what it was and why she had it.
She said her man likes her because of that decor in her mouth—cowries and the face of a god like a shrine in one’s mouth?
she also said that she is comfortable and that it’s beautiful.
I woke up and prayed and immediately understood what the message was but didn’t want to let go of my cute human hair that cost so much.
I decided to ask my husband because he interprets dreams accurately.
He immediately told me to remove the hair. At the same time, the Spirit told me to cut it off and not remove it gracefully because it tried to bring me shame and pain.
Cut it off, anoint your head, anoint and pray on the hair to refute all ill and do not just throw it away but BURN IT. I obeyed.
I have decided to only carry my natural hair or synthetic hair.
This is because the Bible says; “The hair is the woman’s crowning glory”. Carrying another’s is like carrying the other person’s spirit. The worst is even Indian. Nothing wrong with Indians; They are beautiful and we love them especially in Films but those hairs sold are sacrifices to gods. Thus, they are cursed.
There are loads of other human-looking hair made with synthetic in the market if you want that look or if you insist on wearing real human hair, try those from other Countries but pray on them and be ready to bear any consequence.

NOT AGAIN: 46-Year Old Mr Eze Okoro Shot Dead By Police In Front Of His House
Eze Okoro, a 46-year-old man in Lagos was allegedly shot dead by drunk Nigerian Police officers recently in front of his house at 1, Oguntolu Street, Ijaiye, Ojokoro area, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
But the police have denied taking part in his murder.
According to sources, the policemen had been drinking for about six hours at a hotel nearby before they gunned down the man while he was enjoying evening breeze in front of his house after work .
After shattering his waist with bullets, the policemen who were said to have come from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, forcefully took his corpse away, perhaps to cover up their heinous act and dumped it in a mortuary at Yaba.
The policemen took him to Yaba after the Ikeja mortuary officials insisted that before his body could be deposited there, they must fill certain forms, which they refused.
According to Okoro’s wife, Mrs Ugo Okoro, her husband, who is a businessman, returned from work on the fateful day, and because there was no electricity supply, they went and relaxed in front of their house to enjoy some breeze before going to sleep.
She said their family friend, Chinedu Nwanu and his wife, Nneka Nwanu, who is heavily pregnant, also joined them outside.
Ugo said it was not up to five minutes after she left them and went into their apartment that she heard gun shots and the residents started running in all directions.
She said while the commotion was going on, she heard her husband, who was wearing a pair of shorts and simple shirt, shouting that he was not a robber and was explaining to the policemen that he was just relaxing in front of his house.
“Nneka also fell down and started shouting that she was pregnant and showing the police her husband who was beside her. She was allowed to leave with her husband and one of the policemen shot my husband in the waist and he died on the spot,” Ugo narrated.
Sources told P.M.NEWS that the team of policemen had arrived a popular hotel in the area beside Okoro’s house in a Sienna bus with registration number KJA 280 BD and were drinking heavily in the hotel from 4p.m. till 10 p.m. before the incident happened.
Police sources claimed that the man was shot in error during a gun batttle with armed robbers in the hotel, a claim disproved by Okoro’s wife and relatives.
Even the hotel management told P.M.NEWS that there was no shootout between the police and robbers as claimed by the police and that they did not know their mission in the area that day.
The hotel sources, who pleaded for anonymity, said they only noticed the unusual presence of policemen which caused panic in their hotel.
One of the sources said that the policemen did not disclose their mission. Rather they were there having their drinks for several hours.
The source said it was later that they heard gun shots outside and residents including workers of the hotel started running for safety and that after some time, he got to know that they had shot and killed Okoro.
He insisted that there was no robbery incident in the area that day.
Okoro’s younger brother, Innocent, said he was informed about what happened and he immediately contacted other members of the family and they started searching from one police station to another for his corpse.
He said they went to many police stations and commands and to their greatest suprise, they all denied having anything to do with the incident.
Innocent said the search lasted for three days and there was no information whatsoever before they contacted a top police officer who made the police to open up.
He said the police then asked him to go to Yaba mortuary and search for Okoro’s corpse. And when he got there he discovered that the corpse was dumped there as an unidentified corpse.
He said the corpse was brought back to Ikeja General Hospital mortuary where he filled the necessary documents.
Innocent expressed shock about what happened and the way the police treated the whole matter by not even contacting the family because they knew he was an innocent resident they killed for no reason.
He also told P.M.NEWS that “the police admitted that Okoro was killed in error and asked us to come forward with the elders of the family.”
The late Okoro hailed from Imo State. He had a son called Divine.
Meanwhile the Officer In Charge of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Superintendent of Police, Abba Kyari, has claimed that it was armed robbers that shot Okoro while they were trying to escape during an exchange of gunfire with the police.
Kyari said: “ On 8 March, at about 1p.m., I received an information that a gang of armed robbers who had planned to rob a bank on Isolo road ,Ajao Estate were approaching Lagos from Ogun State through Sango-Ota axis.
“Immediately I received this information, I alerted a team of crack detectives. We quickly moved and laid ambush at Abule-Egba Junction along Lagos /Abeokuta Expressway where the armed robbers were intercepted. After a gun battle with the robbers, seven of them were injured while two of them, identified as Olubode Mudashiru, 27, and Gbenga Joseph, 48, were arrested with bullet wounds.”
He explained that after the arrest, they received further information that one of the operational vehicles of the robbers, a golden colour Toyota Camry carrying three AK-47 rifles and two rocket launchers had driven through Abule-Egba junction towards Ajao Estate/Mushin area of Lagos.
I quickly deployed my men to that area where we were informed that the robbers had lodged at a popular hotel in Meiran area of Lagos, where they normally smoke Indian hemp and drink before embarking on operation. I quickly mobilised SARS operatives to the location.
“On sighting the patrol team, the robbers opened fire at us and we responded. During the gun battle, one of the robbers, Tunji Bamidele, 28, was arrested with one AK-47 rifle and a bag. Other gang members escaped along with two AK-47 rifles in their possession.
“ But one man, identified as Okoro, was shot dead by the robbers as they were trying to escape. We were on operation. We don’t know who is who. It was one of the suspected robbers, Bamidele, who told us that the person that was killed was not one of them.
“We quickly transferred the victim to a morgue, where I took charge of the mortuary bill. We were not the one that shot Okoro,” Kyari said.
According to him, during the operation, SARS recovered two AK-47 rifles, eight AK-47 magazines fully loaded, three locally made double barrel pistols, 65 live catridges along with two of their operational vehicles Toyota Sienna with registration number AKD 54 AG and Nissan Sunny with registration number BT 914 APP.
